The assignment was enjoyable because it provided a practical, hands-on opportunity to deepen my understanding of printers and multifunction devices, essential tools in personal and professional settings. Learning how to set up, configure, and troubleshoot different devices was essential as it directly applies to real-world scenarios, enhancing my technical skills.


Was it helpful to you in your current job?

Yes, each assignment was helpful for my educational use. Understanding how to set up and maintain printers properly has improved my efficiency in managing office equipment. This knowledge not only saves time but also guarantees smoother operations and better productivity in the workplace.

I can see myself blogging in the future, even when it isn't required for an assignment. Blogging provides a platform to share knowledge, experiences, and insights with people worldwide. It can be a helpful way to document and reflect on my learning journey or serve as a professional portfolio.

This ability is highly desirable for a company. Being proficient in setting up and managing computer hardware and software, including printers and other devices or software, makes me a more attractive hire. The ability to blog and share technical details can enhance a company's training resources and improve its leadership.

Week 3 Posting - CPU and RAM

 During this week's assignments and videos, I learned that programmers wrote Firmware in ROM (read-only memory) in the early days. However, when the Firmware got outdated, there was no alternative to update it. After that, programmers started writing Firmware on EPROM or EEROM, which can be erased and reprogrammed. The only trick is that these storage devices are too expensive. It is interesting to know how, over time, programmers had to change how memory space would be used on a computer, for example, the function of a CPU, Memory (RAM), and Firmware, and how to update to operate more effectively.

Week 2 Posting - Windows

Watching the video provided for this week, Microsoft Windows: Entire History in 3 Minutes, I was interested in seeing and looking back on some Windows versions. I was nostalgic when I saw Windows XP and Vista because I used both versions at school and at my mom's job. When I was younger, from age 5 to 10, I lived in Brazil, and at that time, kids in school would have IT classes to learn the basics of a computer. Our computers at school would use these versions of Windows XP or Vista. I remember when Windows 7 came out, its updates, and new add-ons. However, I also remember there were some complications as well. For example, upgrading from Windows XP to 7 was complex, and many applications failed. New users at the time did not like Windows 7 and would return to XP since it was easier and cheaper. Windows has improved ever since, but sometimes I do end up having some issues when there are updates for Windows, especially on an older version of an HP laptop, for example.

Week 6 Posting - File Systems

 It was interesting this week to learn more about file systems, how much they have helped, and how much more they could change as we advance in technology. Learning more about AI is interesting because it allows me to see everyone's opinion and things being created, and I wonder how it will be in the future. AI is becoming complex, and I fear that one day, AI will become more intelligent than us. In specific areas of technology, it would be great for something like AI to think better than us, but what happens when our brains are too small to understand AI? It is an exciting topic to discuss.
